Tuition, Scholarships and Financial Aid 2023-2024

2023-2024 Scholarships and Financial Aid

SHA enrolls and graduates a highly capable and diverse student body each year. We strive to make the
SHA experience as affordable as possible for as many as possible by managing tuition
costs. We are also committed to attracting and retaining the most talented student scholars.

To support these commitments, SHA is proud to offer a balance of various merit and need-based scholarship opportunities.

 Merit-Based Scholarships

The  Joseph Scholarship is the highest and most prestigious award offered to incoming students. This partial scholarship recognizes proven academic achievement. A scholarship recipient must maintain honor roll status each year for her scholarship to be renewed.  The Cathedral Scholarship also recognizes academic achievement. Other partial scholarships are awarded at various levels each year based on the applicant pool.

 Need-Based Scholarships

The Dear Neighbor Scholarship is a full tuition need-based scholarship awarded to an incoming 9th grade student with preference to a young woman with demonstrated financial need and who also displays a desire, along with the academic ability, to succeed and become a contributing member of the Sacred Heart community.

To be considered, an applicant must list Sacred Heart (with preference given to those girls who select SHA as her first choice school on the TACHS exam Test for Admissions Into Catholic High Schools-CODE 695), have an 85% or above grade point average, complete a FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review) application* and submit two letters of recommendation.  The scholarship is renewable for all four years provided the student maintains a weighted grade point average of 85% or higher, maintains honor roll status each year, and is an active participant in the school community.

Important note: Applicants who do not receive the Dear Neighbor Scholarship may still be eligible for Aid.

The Sacred Heart Alumnae Scholarship is a partial need-based scholarship available to incoming 9th grade students with a Sacred Heart alumna connection.  To be considered, an applicant must list Sacred Heart as her first choice school on the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS-CODE 695), have an 85% or above grade point average, complete a FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review) application* and submit three letters of recommendation.  The scholarship dollar amount, averaging $2,000, is determined by the Alumnae Scholarship Committee and is based on demonstrated financial need.  The scholarship is renewable for all four years provided the student meets the necessary criteria and maintains honor roll status each year. Applicants who do not receive the Alumnae Scholarship may still be eligible for Financial Aid.

Additional Information:

The combination of external grants, aid and scholarships (funded by state, federal and/or private sources) along with financial assistance and scholarships from Sacred Heart Academy may not exceed the cost of full tuition.  All full scholarships and financial assistance awards from Sacred Heart Academy will be adjusted by any outside aid, grants and scholarships received.

Since tuition is our major source of income, it is imperative that we have your cooperation in meeting this obligation on time.  No student is entitled to attendance in school, report cards, transfer of records, attendance at dances or proms, trips or participation in any school activities, clubs or athletics, or a certification of graduation, until all financial obligations are satisfied.
