Annalisa Emmett '19 Shines at the NYSSMA All State Festival

Annalisa Emmett '19 represented Sacred Heart Academy at the NYSSMA All State Festival in Rochester, NY. Annalisa was among the top high school singers and musicians in all of New York State, including all public, Catholic and private schools.
Annalisa was chosen for All State based on her NYSSMA Solo Festival score from last spring, which was an adjudication that was also her All State Audition.
"Annalisa has always been an exceptional singer, but the most special thing about her is that she is a true woman of heart," Mrs. Donna Soldano-Ferrara of the SHA music department said. "She works very hard and is always willing to learn. She is a true team player and exemplifies the SHA mission of inclusive love. She is always willing to help her fellow chorus members and is not looking to constantly be in the spotlight."
The next step for Annalisa is the All Eastern Chorus in April, which is even more difficult to make considering she will be among about 400 students from the entire east coast. All Eastern is hosted by PMEA, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association in Pittsburgh. Annalisa was nominated by Sacred Heart Academy, and she was chosen because NYSSMA ranks all the All State performers and they use that ranking to choose who goes to All Eastern.
Congratulations and best of luck to Annalisa!
