Lia and Sydnie are both part of the engineering program at Drexel University.
Sydnie is the class of 2023 Architectural Engineering major BS program and Lia is the class of 2025 Materials Science and Engineering BS/MS program. They are both members of the Drexel Society of Women Engineers (SWE) which is an on campus organization for women in engineering and stem. Sydnie and Lia had the pleasure of attending the Women in Engineering 2022 conference in Houston, Texas together as a group with SWE in October. WE 22 is a national conference that invites all SWE members and advocates for women in stem across the U.S. to attend and have career development, networking, and self development opportunities. The conference itinerary included many impactful panel speakers, information and networking sessions, and a career fair all allowing for career growth and overall personal growth as women in stem.
Lia and Sydnie are forever grateful for Sacred Heart’s encouragement of women to not only pursue fields in STEM but to do so with purpose and to lead with heart. Because of the leadership values instilled in them at SHA, they were able to carry themselves with confidence both at the conference and in all aspects of our lives.
