SHA Participates in Synod with Diocese of RVC

When the Catholic Church’s Synod began in October 2021, Pope Francis invited the worldwide Church to embark on a journey together. Through listening and discernment rooted in the Holy Spirit, the entire people of God will be called to contribute to a process by which the Church deepens in understanding of mission and looks toward the future.

Through sharing, the Synod calls the people of God to pray and reflect upon the Holy Spirit’s will for the Church.   SHA’s Campus Minister, Mrs. Veronica Ticas-Ludewig joined Mrs. Barberesi, Ms. Callahan, Mr. Korec, Ms. Lavery, and Ms. Mennona, all members of the SHA’s Theology faculty in the discussion with Bishop Andrzej.

“Sacred Heart is blessed to be included in the Synod with the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and to engage in such important dialogue with Bishop Andrzej,” said Mrs. Ticas-Ludewig. “It is our hope that the Diocese of Rockville Centre will also include the voices of young people and the youth, who are our future, in this Synod.”

The Synod is a two-year process which will conclude in 2023.
