11 Sacred Heart Academy students' poster proposals accepted for presentation at Conference

Taking a longer view, this is the sixth straight year that Sacred Heart Academy teens have been invited to share their work at this international gathering of professional psychologists. According to APS executive director emeritus, Sarah Brookhart, “Many colleges cannot boast that number of invitations; your school should be terribly proud of the girls in your program. Whatever your school is doing to encourage and support girls‘ interest in psychological science specifically, and STEM generally to be applauded.”

Two of our fledgling psychologists are juniors. Nine are seniors who will take their last exam at SHA, before immediately hopping on a plane for the left coast to make a very mature presentation to professors and graduate students. The girls will share their original research alongside undergraduates and graduate students at one of psychology’s most prestigious international annual gatherings. All proposals were "read blindly,” meaning the judges did not know they were reading the work of high school students. This swells the number of Sacred Heart APS invitations since 2019 to sixty!

Congratulations to all our young behavioral scientists!
