SHA Students Dominated: 2024 Nassau Community College "Scientifically Speaking" Science Fair

SHA students dominated the Upper Grade Divisions of the 2024 Nassau Community College "Scientifically Speaking" Science Fair. Over 125 registered projects (185 students) in grades 6-12 students attending Nassau County public, private and charter schools competed.

According to Fair Director, Nassau Community College Professor & Honors College Director Christopher Frederick, “this was the most competitive fair in over a decade. Congratulations to the students for their masterful work.”

- Younger grades dominated by Elmont Memorial JHS
- Most awards in 10-12 went to SHA. 
 
Fun Fact: SHA students have won more awards at NCC than any other high school over the last four years. 
 
2020-21: 12th grade - 1st, 2nd, 3rd
2021-22: 10th grade - 1st, 2nd + 11th grade - 1st, 2nd, 3rd
2022-23: 10th grade - 1st + 11th grade - 1st, 2nd
2023-24: 10th grade - 1st, 2nd + 11th grade - 1st + 12th grade - 1st
