Athletics Update on Spectators | October 7, 2020

Sacred Heart Academy and the Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association (NSCHSAA) have worked hard to provide an opportunity for our student-athletes to compete in sports, while also providing as safe an environment as possible. As competition begins this weekend, we need your continued cooperation.

The NSCHSAA has ruled that there will be no spectators at any contest this year, until further notice. To remain in compliance and in support of this decision, Sacred Heart Academy will not allow any spectators at any athletic events, hosted on campus or off.

Student-athletes should be dropped off and cars must vacate SHA’s campus or any facilities immediately after drop-off. Sacred Heart Academy student-athletes who drive themselves to athletic competitions must present their student parking pass and/or student ID card to park at the competition facility.

A SHA supervisor will be present at all home and away games, and a security guard will be on campus at Sacred Heart to assist with this process.

When dropping off student-athletes for away competitions, we ask that you be respectful of their facility and follow the same rules.

To allow for parents and fans to safely watch our student-athletes compete, SHA will be filming all home and away contests, and when possible, live-streaming home contests. Links to the videos and live-streams will be shared on our website. www.sacredheartacdemyli.org/athletics/

Sacred Heart Academy will not be hosting any additional events such as team dinners or pasta parties on campus. We are also requesting that these types of gatherings with our student-athletes do not take place off campus either for the safety of our SHA community.

Thank you for cooperation and support in safely implementing this critical component of the return to play safety guidelines. Go Spartans!
