Winter Track Team Succeeds in Varsity League Championship Meet

The Winter Track Team competed at the Varsity League Championship meet at St. Anthony's on January 27 where they placed a historic 2nd place behind St. John the Baptist by only 7 points.
Top finishes at the meet include:
  • Maggie Maier winning the 3K and 1500, which awarded her MVP of the entire meet voted by the league.
  • Shannon Thieke winning the 1K.
  • Alex Earle winning the high jump, jumping an amazing height and personal best of 5'4". Her teammates Amanda Ripp and Barbara Speight came in 2nd and 3rd respectively, bringing in big points for the team.
  • Mickaylah Desormeaux winning the shot put in a new personal best throw.
  • The 4x8 team - made up of Shannon Thieke, Courtney Koleda, Helen Moloney and Anna Kavanagh - placing 1st.
  • Anna Kavanagh placing 3rd in the 1500 and Marie Naudus following close behind to take 4th place contributing big points for the team.
  • Zahara Anglin gaining points in the hurdles and running a huge personal best time.
  • Colleen Dorian coming up big in the 600M dash, scoring points for SHA placing 4th.
  • The 4x2 team - made up of Melanie Galeano, Katie Joesten, Lexi Lafarge and Jahminia Dennis - placing 3rd overall.
  • The 4x4 team - made up of Michela Giura, Marie Naudus, Colleen Dorian and Maggie Maier - placing 3rd overall.
