Seniors Recognized for Academic Achievements

Thursday was a proud day for Sacred Heart Academy. Interim Principal and Vice President for Mission and Academics S. Jean Amore, CSJ, Ed.D., announced that 9 of our seniors have been awarded with high academic honors.
Five of the seniors have been named as commended students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students have been recognized for the exceptional academic promise they demonstrated on the PSAT College Board Exam. Over 1.6 million students took this exam. The five seniors are Nicole Grueneberg, Emily Moran, Maria Noyes, Somaia Saba, and Kerri Zappalla.
Last spring, SHA had four students eligible to apply for the National Hispanic Recognition Program. They were eligible because they scored in the top 2.5 percent among Hispanic and Latino PSAT test takers. After further review by the College Board, our four applicants have been accepted by the National Hispanic Recognition program at the highest academic level: the level of Scholar. These four seniors are Ariana Freire, Sophia Poarch, Veronica Rich, and Emily Moran.
Last but not least, the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists confers the Award of Excellence for outstanding academic performance, leadership potential, and dedication to serving humanity through the profession of medicine to senior Maria Galvez.
Congratulations to all of these young women on their achievements.
