Junior, Mixed-grade TeamĀ  Awarded NYIT Mini-Research Grant Awards

Now in its fifth year, the New York Institute of Technology's Mini-Research Grant Awards (MRGA) program awards outstanding high school students all across Long Island. The purpose of these awards is to fund the cost of research materials and related expenses associated with promising high school research project proposals or ongoing projects in STEM-related disciplines. Proposals for projects starting Spring 2022 or Fall 2022 were eligible. The amount of each award (individual or group) is $300.  
  • Junior Isabel Louie was awarded an MRGA grant from NYIT to support her research project - "The influence of food allergies on health-related quality of life among adolescents and their parents.
 
  • Junior Julia Revill captains an outstanding group of sophomores - Kaitlin Cole, Jackie Quinn & Alex Sim. The NYIT grant will allow them to study "The crumb rubber conundrum: The effects of heavy metal leaching on terrestrial invertebrates."   

Sacred Heart Academy has secured two awards each year it has participated in the university's STEM-discipline grant competition. So far, NYIT support for our girls has totaled $1600.
