SHA Receives Gift from the CSJ to Enhance Scholarship and Financial Aid Offerings

Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) has received a $500,000 gift from the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood (CSJ) to be used to enhance scholarship and financial aid offerings at SHA. The Sisters of St. Joseph sponsor Sacred Heart Academy and continue to generously support its mission and future success.

“This remarkable gift will position Sacred Heart to offer talented young women the opportunity to benefit from SHA’s unique faith-based mission and commitment to empower young women to lead with courage and compassion,” said Kristin Lynch Graham, Sacred Heart Academy President. “With the support of the CSJ and the Board of Trustees, Sacred Heart Academy has a proven commitment to investing in financial aid and scholarship. Our goal is to keep the excellent education offered at SHA accessible to as many students as possible. We are so very grateful to the Sisters of St. Joseph for this remarkable gift, which will allow us to provide more financial aid and scholarships to an even larger number of qualified students. We also hope it will inspire others to support the critical need of scholarship and financial aid. We are excited to work with our generous alumnae and benefactors to continue this effort.”

The gift will be used to enhance Sacred Heart’s Dear Neighbor scholarship program.  The revised program will expand the geographic region for applicants to include all of our dear neighbors in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Brooklyn. It will also allow Sacred Heart to offer additional partial scholarships and financial aid awards through the program.

S. Tesa Fitzgerald, CSJ, President of the Congregation and Sacred Heart Academy Alumna, said, “Education is at the center of the CSJ ministry. We are delighted to be able to invest in each of our four sponsored schools. We know that Sacred Heart will use the gift well in providing more financial aid to its students and we look forward to witnessing how this gift can be used to inspire others.”

In addition to the Dear Neighbor scholarship program, Sacred Heart Academy offers merit-based scholarships and need-based scholarships and aid.  Learn more by visiting www.sacredheartacademyli.org/scholarships/.
