Five Sacred Heart Academy students competed as finalists in the New York State Speech and Debate Championship.
The competition began on Saturday, April 24. Sophia Camulaire '21, Kelly Placide '21, Jazara Jones Campbell '23, Shadia Suha '23, and Tarah Gilles '21 all advanced through quarters to semis to finals. This means that these ladies are in the top six students in the state in each of their categories.
Sophia came in 4th in Oral Interpretation. Kelly placed 6th in Original Oratory. Tarah earned 6th Place in Drama. Shadia won 3rd Place in Declamation. Jazara came in 5th place in Declamation.
